Cookies and storage

The site's pages set no cookies.

So that its opening plays once per visit, the home page keeps one value, myrmitis:opening, in your browser's session storage. It is never sent to the site, and your browser discards it when you close the tab. If your device is set to reduce motion, the opening does not play and nothing is stored.

If you ask not to be counted (below), the choice is kept in your browser's local storage as myrmitis:no-count until you change it here or this site's data is cleared. Some browsers clear it on their own, for example when a private window is closed or after a week of browsing without a click or tap on this site; your visits are then counted again until you choose again here.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Your browser's requests go to Vercel's servers, which receive your IP address, the address requested, the address of any page that linked to it and your browser's user agent. Vercel uses them to deliver the page and keeps a record of the requests, which the site's owner can see in Vercel's traffic and security views, for example grouped by IP address, user agent, path and country.

Visit statistics

Visits to the home page are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies here. For each page view your browser sends Vercel the address of the page, the time and, if you followed a link from another site, the address that site passes on, which can be the full address of the page you came from. Vercel may also record an approximate location (country, region and city), the type, brand and model of your device, and your operating system and browser with their versions, which it derives from the request.

Vercel states that it identifies visitors by a hash created from the request rather than by third-party cookies, that a visitor session is discarded after 24 hours (the page-view records themselves are kept for longer), and that by default the site's owner can use the data only in aggregate.

The statistics script runs only on the home page and only with JavaScript. It is not loaded if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or if you choose below not to be counted. Leaving the statistics does not stop the hosting records described above.

Typefaces

The typefaces are served from this site. Every file a page loads comes from myrmitis.com; your browser contacts no other site.

Letters

Mail to hello@myrmitis.com is received by Google Workspace, which Myrmitis uses for email.

Every letter is read by the principal and answered in writing. The site's email links open your own mail program with suggested headings; you decide what to send.

Nothing else

There are no forms, accounts, advertising or embedded content from other sites.
